Statement by President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Starmer, Chancellor Merz, President Macron, Prime Minister Meloni, Prime Minister Tusk,  President von der Leyen, President Costa, Prime Minister Støre, President Stubb and Prime Minister Frederiksen on Peace for Ukraine:

We are all united in our desire for a just and lasting peace, deserved by the people of Ukraine.

We strongly support President Trump’s position that the fighting should stop immediately, and that the current line of contact should be the starting point of negotiations. We remain committed to the principle that international borders must not be changed by force.

Russia’s stalling tactics have shown time and time again that Ukraine is the only party serious about peace. We can all see that Putin continues to choose violence and destruction.

Therefore we are clear that Ukraine must be in the strongest possible position – before, during, and after any ceasefire. We must ramp up the pressure on Russia’s economy and its defence industry, until Putin is ready to make peace. We are developing measures to use the full value of Russia’s immobilised sovereign assets so that Ukraine has the resources it needs.

Leaders will meet later this week in the European Council and in the Coalition of the Willing format to discuss how to take this work forward and to further support Ukraine.

  1. “We are all united in our desire for a just and lasting peace, deserved by the people of Ukraine.”

But it’s not just or lasting until Ukraine’s legal territory has been restored in full and the dirty putinaZi bastards that inflicted this holocaust have been punished and full reparations paid.

  2. Blah, blah, blah and more blah blah blah. I was hoping this kind of chest pounding bullshit would stop and get converted into real action. Hopefully the day of Ukrainians and the west of trusting Russia is over. NOT. There will still be fools who will say Russians are misunderstood.

    • It’s a well meaning but very weak statement because unless I’ve completely misunderstood it, it appears clear that putler will be allowed to keep what he’s thieved; likely without penalty.
Therefore there is NOTHING in it for Ukraine. They might want to fight on and retake Crimea, but that is up to the Ukrainians alone.
Unfortunately they know that they will continue to get only 20% of the kit they need.
The only bright spot is that British defence systems from Thales and more patriots are coming through, plus anti-Shahed systems.
One patriot battery was delivered by Israel last month and is already in action.

  3. The time for talking is long since over. You had 3 fucking years to arm yourselves to the teeth and hammer real sanctions on mafia land. You could also show some steel by refusing to guarantee the safety of putler’s plane travelling to Budapest, or ban it altogether, instead of meekly complaining about it..

    • Apparently Jean-Noël Barrot said that putler should only be allowed to enter the EU if an unconditional ceasefire was declared.
I don’t know if that is still under discussion as an option.

      • He shouldn’t be allowed in at all. If TACO wants to slobber over putler, they can find a suitable shithole to do it.

        • It would appear that putler chose Orbanistan because it’s run by a fellow nazi, plus he thinks it helps OrbanaZi’s image for the coming election.
Likely it appeals to Krasnov because he loves those two cunts and sees this as a great way to stick it to Ukraine, stick it to the EU and stick it to his domestic political enemies.

          • If the polls are anything to go by, Orban will need interference from both the US and russia to win. He is way behind on the latest polls.

            • In a free and fair election it is very likely that the opposition candidate will win. But will it be?
Putler has a 100% track record of ensuring that his puppet remains in power in the countries he controls, such as Belarus, Georgia, Serbia and numerous African shitholes.
