A 16-year-old Ukrainian girl tragically died in Germany, probably after being pushed under a train. In 2022, she and her family left occupied Mariupol and found refuge in the state of Thuringia.

However, after a DNA test, traces of a man were found on the deceased’s shoulder. The case was reclassified.

Investigators believe that the suspect, 31-year-old Muhammed, intentionally pushed 16-year-old Ukrainian citizen Liana off the platform right in front of a freight train.

The man had previously attracted the attention of the police due to a disturbance at the police station. He was behaving aggressively, so he was taken to a specialized psychiatric clinic. He had previously been under the supervision of doctors with a diagnosis of “paranoid schizophrenia.”

Muhammad applied for asylum in Germany, but was rejected and was to be deported to Lithuania.

No connection has been established between the man and the girl.

It is known that on the day of the incident, August 11, Liana had come home from school and was talking to her grandfather on the phone. He heard the screams and immediately notified her parents.
