The media learned that there are only five times fewer installations concentrated there than in Moscow and the Moscow region.
At least 12 air defense units have been identified near the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Valdai (Novgorod Region), Radio Liberty reports , citing satellite images and open sources.

Most of the detected systems are Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, which are designed to protect against aircraft, helicopters, drones and cruise missiles.
On August 12, a user of the X network under the nickname jembobineuse reported the discovery of new air defense systems on the Yandex.Maps service. This information was confirmed by Radio Liberty journalist Mark Krutov, who published an interactive map with the location of all the discovered systems.
Chronology:
- In January 2023, the first air defense was recorded near the residence – its photo was provided by local residents to the Agency publication.
- In July 2024, information about the second installation appeared.
- As of August 2025, the number of systems has increased to 12.
According to Radio Liberty, the current number of air defense systems near the Valdai residence is only five times less than in Moscow and the Moscow region, which emphasizes the strategic importance of this location for the Kremlin.

Putler must have more faith in this junk than Ukraine. It has more success hitting russian apartment blocks than drones.
The vampire sure is paranoid … and gives Ukraine a lot of credit in its abilities to strike deep and effectively.
