โ–ช๏ธ Fifty-year-old Su-25 pilot Ihor Parkhomenko has returned to combat โ€” just 40 days after burying his son.
His 25-year-old son, Serhii, also an attack pilot, was killed in 2022, leaving behind a young son โ€” Ihorโ€™s grandson.

โ–ช๏ธ In every mission:
๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Ihor carries a photo of Serhii with him into the cockpit.
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ His fight is now not just for Ukraine โ€” but for the memory of his son and the future of his grandson.

โ–ช๏ธ Why it matters:
โžก๏ธ Stories like Ihorโ€™s embody the true cost of Ukraineโ€™s defense: generations scarred, but refusing to break.
โžก๏ธ They reveal a truth far beyond politics โ€” a fight fueled by duty, sacrifice, and love.

โ–ช๏ธ Bottom line:
๐Ÿ”” Victory is not measured only in kilometers โ€” but in the unbreakable spirit of those who endure, fight, and carry the fallen with them.

โ–ช๏ธ Defense One reports that the U.S. Army has โ€œunexpectedlyโ€ realized it doesnโ€™t actually need the M10 Booker โ€” a 42-ton โ€œlightโ€ tank born from the Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) program.

โ–ช๏ธ Key background:
๐Ÿ“ Development began in 2013 to meet 82nd Airborne Divisionโ€™s need for an airdroppable armored fire support vehicle โ€” a modern replacement for the M551 Sheridan.
๐Ÿ“ The result: a 42-ton machine too heavy for most light infantry garrison infrastructure (8 of 11 bridges at Fort Campbell can’t support it).
๐Ÿ“ Originally intended to support infantry brigades, the Army ordered 504 vehicles, with General Dynamics contracted for the first 96 units in 2022.

โ–ช๏ธ Current status:
๐Ÿšซ Deliveries have yet to begin.
๐Ÿšซ Only a few pilot-batch vehicles, with modifications, are in limited use.
๐Ÿšซ No clear operational concept has emerged โ€” and uncertainty clouds the programโ€™s future.

โ–ช๏ธ Strategic implications:
โžก๏ธ The M10 Booker risks becoming another example of “capability mismatch” โ€” where a platform exists but no doctrine, no infrastructure, and no urgent operational need align to justify it.

โ–ช๏ธ Bottom line:
๐Ÿ”” Building a machine is easy. Building a relevant capability โ€” a platform with a mission, infrastructure, and doctrine โ€” is the real challenge.
