Russian satellites actively surveyed the Strait of Hormuz

According to Ukraine’s estimates, Iran bombed American bases and allied facilities shortly after Russian satellites mapped them,  The Guardian reports .

According to a Ukrainian intelligence assessment, Russian satellites took detailed images of military facilities and critical locations in the Middle East, including US bases and other targets, which were attacked by Iran shortly afterwards. According to Reuters, the assessment lists at least 24 surveys of areas in 11 Middle Eastern countries from March 21 to 31, which covered 46 “sites”, including US and other military bases, airports and oil fields. Within days of the surveys, the military bases and headquarters were attacked by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.

According to the Ukrainians, Russian satellites have been actively monitoring the Strait of Hormuz. A security source confirmed a specific incident in which a Russian satellite took images of Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia a few days before Iran struck the facility on March 27, hitting a sophisticated American E-3 Sentry air-cooled and control system aircraft. The Ukrainian report also claims that Russian and Iranian hackers collaborated in cyberspace.

Ukrainian troops from Libya attacked Russians

Ukrainian troops operating in Libya attacked a Russian tanker, according to an article on the Associated Press.

Ukrainian forces are operating in western Libya under a secret deal approved by the West, and they used the North African country’s territory to attack a Russian tanker in the Mediterranean Sea last month, two Libyan officials said.

The Russian-flagged Arctic Metagaz, carrying 61,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas, was badly damaged in a suspected naval drone attack near Maltese waters in early March. It has since departed Libya. The Libyan Maritime Administration said all 30 crew members were rescued and transferred to another vessel bound for the Libyan city of Benghazi.

The tanker is part of Russia’s so-called shadow fleet, which transports oil in violation of international sanctions imposed over Russia’s more than four-year-old invasion of Ukraine. The recent temporary waiver by the United States from those sanctions is aimed at easing supply shortages amid the war with Iran.
