Ukrainian troops advance in the area of Oleksandrivka and Hulyaipol – ISW

02/14/2026

Ukrainian troops have recently advanced in the Oleksandrivka and  Hulyaipil directions, while the occupiers have made progress in the Slavyansk direction. At the same time, analysts have refuted several earlier Russian claims of “successes” on the front in Ukraine.

At the same time, Z-propagandists are howling about the situation in which the Russian invaders find themselves in Kupyansk: they have no food, water, or medicine, and the Russian command is indifferent to the fate of these occupiers. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on the situation on the front.

Sumy direction

On February 13, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Sumy direction, but did not advance.

On February 12 and 13, Russian troops attacked in Kursk and Sumy regions, in particular near Kindrativka, Varachynye, and Andriivka , and in the direction of Malaya Korchakivka , near Yablunivka and Myropillya, as well as southeast of Hlushkovo near Milayevka.

One Russian military blogger stated that both Russian and Ukrainian forces are taking into account the worsening weather conditions in the Sumy direction when planning offensive operations, as such conditions impair the operation of FPV drones. He also claimed that well-prepared Ukrainian fortifications are preventing Russian forces from achieving even a small advance in the Sumy direction.

Kharkiv direction

The day before, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the north of the Kharkiv region, but did not advance.

On February 12 and 13, Russian troops advanced northeast of Kharkiv in the area of Lyman, Prylipka, Rybalkyny, Vovchansk, Vovchansky Khutor, Grafske, Starytsia, Symynivka, Vilcha, and in the direction of Okhrimivka.

Velykoburlutsk direction

Over the past two days, Russian troops have continued offensive operations southeast of Velikiy Burluk near Kolodyazny, but have not advanced.

On February 12 and 13, Russian troops attacked near Kupyansk itself, near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Kurylivka, Kupyansk-Vuzlovye, and in the direction of Kivsharivka.

A spokesman for the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Kupyansk direction reported on February 13 that recent Starlink failures are hindering Russian offensives.

However, the deterioration of communications is not the only problem of the invaders on this section of the front. Even Russian propagandists admit that the occupiers who remain in the center of Kupyansk under encirclement are sitting there without food, medicine, and water. One of the Z-publics even criticized the Russian military command for the lack of attention to the difficult situation of the Russian troops.

Boriv direction

On February 13, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Borovsky direction, but did not advance.

On February 12 and 13, Russian forces attacked southeast of Borova near Hrekivka and south of Borova near Seredny and Oleksandrivka.

Slavic direction

Russian troops have recently advanced in the Slavyansk direction – northeast of Liman and in the southern part of Drobysheve. This is confirmed by geolocation videos that appeared online on February 12 and 13.

Meanwhile, Russian propagandists are also “drawing” an advance to the east of Nikiforivka (this settlement is located southeast of Sloviansk).

After analyzing some more videos from February 12, analysts refuted previous statements by Russian propagandists and the Russian military command regarding alleged “successes” in the southeastern part of the Estuary: the footage confirms that Ukrainian soldiers are holding positions there.

On February 12 and 13, Russian forces attacked near and within the Lyman itself; northwest of Lyman near Drobysheve; north of Lyman near Stavki; southeast of Lyman near Yampol; northeast of Sloviansk near Platonovka and Zakitne; east of Sloviansk near Svyato-Pokrovsky and towards Kryvaya Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka; southeast of Sloviansk near Nikiforovka and Riznykovka , as well as towards Lypovka and Fedorovka Druha.

Meanwhile, Russian propagandists, without evidence, attribute to the occupiers the alleged advance northwest of Golubivka (northeast of Kostyantynivka).

But analysts refuted Russia’s previous statements about control over the T-0504 highway east of Kostyantynivka thanks to geolocated video footage from February 13: they show Ukrainian soldiers operating along the highway.

Russian troops attacked near Kostyantynivka itself; north of Kostyantynivka near Pryvillya and towards Tykhoniivka; northeast of Kostyantynivka near Minkivka, Golubivka, Novomarkovo; southeast of Kostyantynivka near Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbinivka; south of Kostyantynivka near Illinivka and Berestok; southwest of Kostyantynivka near Stepanivka; south of Druzhkivka near Rusyn Yar; and southwest of Druzhkivka near Sofiivka.

Pokrovsky direction

On February 13, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Pokrovsky direction, but did not achieve confirmed progress.

This did not stop Russian propagandists from inventing an advance by the occupiers in the center of Hryshynye, northwest of Pokrovsk. At least, they did not confirm the claim with anything.

On February 12 and 13, Russian forces attacked near Pokrovsk itself; northwest of Pokrovsk near Hryshynye and towards Novooleksandrivka and Shevchenko; north of Pokrovsk near Rodynske and Bilytsky; northeast of Pokrovsk near Zatyshko; east of Pokrovsk near Rivne; south of Pokrovsk near Novopavlivka; and southwest of Pokrovsk near Kotlyny, Novopidhorodny, Udachny, and Molodetsky.

One of the Russian Z-bloggers, meanwhile, claimed that Ukrainian troops counterattacked near Udachny.

A senior officer of a Ukrainian brigade operating in the Pokrovskoye sector reported on February 12 that Russian forces had recently resumed the use of heavy equipment in the area and had attempted to use all-terrain vehicles to enter Pokrovskoye. He added that the Starlink outage had temporarily reduced the intensity of Russian attacks, but Russian forces were now adapting by establishing analog radio communications.

A serviceman from a Ukrainian brigade operating in the Pokrovskoye sector reported on February 13 that the intensity of Russian attacks fluctuates due to weather and periodic disruptions to Starlink communications. According to him, recent frosts have reduced the ground activity of Russian troops and limited the movement of infantry, but Russian troops continue to actively use drones, in particular the Molniya.
The serviceman also reported that reconnaissance using Russian drones remains effective, but its work has deteriorated somewhat due to internet disruptions.

Novopavlivskyi direction

On February 12 and 13, Russian troops continued offensive operations near Novopavlivka itself and south of Novopavlivka near Dachny, but did not advance.

Oleksandrivskyi direction

Ukrainian troops have recently advanced in the Oleksandrivka direction. This is confirmed by footage of the occupiers recording drone strikes on Ukrainian positions in the central part of Otradne (south of Oleksandrivka). This, analysts state, also indicates the recent advance of Ukrainian troops in this area.

A Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian troops counterattacked near Berezovoye (southeast of Oleksandrivka).

A spokesman for the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Oleksandrivka direction reported on February 13 that Russian forces are currently conducting minimal or no infantry attacks, including small group missions, but continue to actively strike Ukrainian command posts and logistics with Gerber/Shahed drones. He added that it remains unclear whether the Starlink outages or Telegram restrictions have affected Russian ground activity.

Hulyaipil direction

Ukrainian troops recently advanced in the Hulyaipil direction.

According to Ukrainian military observer Kostyantyn Mashovets, Ukrainian forces recently liberated Dobropillya (north of Hulyaipol), Pryluky, and Olenokostyantynivka (both northwest of Hulyaipol), forcing Russian forces to retreat eastward via the T-0401 Pokrovske-Hulyaipol highway.

Russian propagandists claimed that Russian troops had advanced south of Lukyanivske and northeast of Stepnogirsk (both northwest of Orekhov).

On February 12 and 13, Russian forces attacked west of Orekhov near Maly Shcherbaky, Plavni, and Novoandreyevka, as well as northwest of Orekhov near Prymorske, Pavlivka, and Lukyanivka, as well as in the direction of Magdalinivka, Novoyakovlivka, and Novoboykivka.

Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian forces counterattacked northwest of Orekhov near Lukyanivske and Stepnohirsk, as well as in the direction of Magdalinivka.

Neither Ukrainian nor Russian sources reported any ground activity in the Kherson direction on February 13.
