Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system, a Buk-M2 transporter-loader vehicle, and a Triumph radar from an S-400 system, according to the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, on March 22.
Brovdi reported that the strikes were carried out between March 1 and March 22 at operational depth, with the latest hits recorded in Russia’s Bryansk region and in temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
He noted that pilots from the 413th Separate Battalion Raid struck the Buk-M3 and Buk-M2 systems in Bryansk, while another Unmanned Systems Forces unit targeted the Triumph radar in occupied Donetsk region.
According to Brovdi, the newly released footage shows a Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system, a Buk-M2 launcher-loader vehicle, and a Triumph radar that is part of the S-400 complex.
“Enemy Triumph radar and two Buk systems. The Birds of the Unmanned Systems Forces have already destroyed 26 enemy air defense assets in March,” Brovdi wrote in his update.
He added that the Buk-M3 was destroyed “together with its crew,” while the Buk-M2 launcher-loader vehicle was also eliminated in the same strike.
Brovdi also provided a broader battlefield summary for the formation, stating that as of the morning of March 22, its units had destroyed or struck 7,073 Russian personnel and 25,612 unique enemy targets.
The broader drone effort also targeted Russian support infrastructure across occupied southern Ukraine and temporarily occupied Crimea.
The similar overnight operation also hit Russian command, fuel, and logistics sites across occupied southern Ukraine and Crimea after a Buk-M1 launcher was destroyed in the Zaporizhzhia region on March 11.
According to Ukrainian defense reporting, crews from the 1st Separate Center of Unmanned Systems used Ukrainian-made FP-2 strike drones, first disabling the launcher with a smaller drone before completing the job with a heavier platform.
I laugh at countries like India and Turkey that bought this crap. The old saying, buy cheap buy twice, fully applies here.
It baffles the mind that they are so oblivious to the way their purchases are failing on a regular basis.
