A series of powerful explosions were heard in Bryansk, Russia, on March 10, followed by a fire near the Kremniy El microelectronics plant. The plant produces electronic components used in Russian missile systems and drones.
This was reported by Exilenova+ on Telegram. Later, the General Staff confirmed that the successful strikes on the Russian enterprise were carried out by units of the UkrainianDefense Forces with Storm Shadow missiles.
A series of powerful explosions were heard in the city. There were about 11 of them, and thick smoke rose above the Sovietsky district of the city after that. On the eve of the attack, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported on the missile danger. After the explosion, a thick column of smoke rose above the city, which was visible from different districts.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the Russian defense industry plant, noting that the “Kremniy El” plant was hit by Storm Shadow missiles.
“As part of the systematic reduction of the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the Bryansk microelectronics plant “Kremniy El” with Storm Shadow air-launched missiles,” the General Staff said.
It is noted that the target was hit and significant damage was caused to production facilities. The scale of the damage is being clarified. The General Staff also released a corresponding video.
The Kremniy El plant is one of the important enterprises of the Russian defense industry. It specializes in the production of microelectronics and semiconductors and produces over 1,000–1,500 types of electronic components.
“Kremniy El” is a critically important link in the chain of production of Russian “precision” weapons. The plant specializes in discrete semiconductor technology and integrated circuits, which are the “brains” and “nervous system” of modern weapons, in particular Iskander missiles, the General Staff emphasized.
Among the company’s key clients is the Russian state corporation Almaz-Antey, which develops and manufactures air defense systems. In particular, electronic components are used in the Russian cruise missiles Kh-59 and Kh-69, as well as in the Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the damage to the Bryansk plant “Kremniy El”.
“Our soldiers struck one of the important Russian military plants – in Bryansk. This plant produced electronics, components for Russian missiles. The very ones that hit our cities, our villages – civilians. We are defending ourselves,” the president emphasized.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that on the night of March 10, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on the military infrastructure of the Russian army. Fuel and lubricants depots, an electronic warfare station, a drone control point, and artillery positions of the occupiers were hit by fire.
