An oil terminal in Primorsk, Russia, continues to burn for the second day. Eyewitnesses have documented the extent of the flames.

Eyewitness video has emerged showing the aftermath of a Ukrainian  attack  on the Primorsk  seaport near St. Petersburg, in the Leningrad region. Footage captured on a mobile phone shows a massive fire raging for over two days, with thick black smoke from burning oil products rising hundreds of meters.

On Sunday night, Ukrainian drones attacked the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea, a key export hub for Russian oil and diesel fuel. According to preliminary reports, oil transshipment has been halted, and Russia is unable to pump crude into tankers.

Primorsk is considered the largest oil port in northwestern Russia. Its capacity allows it to handle approximately 900,000 barrels of oil and petroleum products per day.

The fire can last for a long time.

Experts estimate that fires at oil facilities often continue until the fuel burns out completely, complicating firefighting efforts. A large-scale fire at a port could lead to prolonged disruptions in supply chain logistics.

The attack disrupted one of Russia’s key oil export hubs. The disruption could affect oil shipments through the Baltic Sea.
