The Security Service of Ukraine once again struck effective strikes on strategic facilities of the aggressor country Russia . This time, an arsenal and an oil depot were under attack. As a result of the attacks, large-scale fires broke out, and local authorities began evacuating the population.
An informed source in the SBU reported the details of the successful attack to OBOZ.UA. According to the special service, the affected facilities served the military and logistics needs of the aggressor country.
Details of the operation
Long-range drones of the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center attacked arsenal No. 100 of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate in the Kostroma region and the Gerkon Plus oil depot in Lipetsk. Due to the detonation of ammunition at the arsenal, powerful explosions rang out all night . Local authorities organized the evacuation of residents of several settlements.
“This was an important arsenal for the enemy, as it supplied ammunition for lower-level depots in the western and central directions,” the source noted.
The affected arsenal is part of the system of support for the ground forces, air force and air defense forces of the Russian Federation . The facility performs the functions of accounting, maintenance, storage and preparation for shipment of artillery ammunition, as well as missiles of tactical and operational-tactical levels. In the city of Neya, where it is located, the detonation of ammunition is ongoing.
At the same time, a large-scale fire broke out due to a strike on an oil depot. “Gerkon Plus” supplied petroleum products to the Tambov, Voronezh, and Lipetsk regions.
“In the new year, the SBU continues to successfully operate against Russian military and oil facilities, reducing the enemy’s ability to supply its army with ammunition and fuel. All Russian rear facilities that are working for the war against Ukraine are absolutely legitimate targets,” the source concluded.
In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the destruction of enemy drone control points in Pokrovsk and a radar station for the S-300 air defense system near Novoyanisol in the Donetsk region, as well as drone control points in Valetivka , Kursk region, Grayvoron, Belgorod region of Russia, and the area of concentration of enemy manpower in the Starosillya region in the Belgorod region.
