Trump canceled meeting with Zelensky at the last minute, but Macron intervened, – media

The United States of America wanted to cancel the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington , but changed its mind after Paris intervened.

This was reported by the television network BFMTV , citing a French diplomatic source. According to them, yesterday the White House asked the Ukrainian leader not to come to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump.

“Volodymyr Zelensky called Emmanuel Macron, who in turn contacted Donald Trump, asking him to receive his counterpart and adding that he would vouch for him. Donald Trump eventually agreed, announcing on Wednesday that he would receive the Ukrainian leader at the White House.”
