The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, spoke about the details of the special operation “Web”, during which a third of the Russian Federation’s strategic aviation – 41 aircraft – was hit.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the SBU.
The logistical aspect of the operation is the most important
“”The Web” is a unique, multi-stage operation that includes a number of extremely important components. First of all, it is logistics, that is, the delivery of the means themselves to the enemy’s rear, in our case, 150 combat FPV drones. It is the delivery of houses, inside which the means were delivered to the airfields. It is intelligence work, communications, and much more. If we look at the “Web” as a whole, we see a comprehensive approach: intelligence and technical. And our work becomes most effective when there is the right symbiosis,” said Malyuk.
He noted that to implement the operational plan, the SBU created a legendary enterprise in the Russian Federation – a logistics company in Chelyabinsk. Ukrainian agents rented office space and warehouses there, which were located next to the local FSB department. Later, they purchased five trucks, and the drivers they hired transported various cargoes to consolidate their undercover work.
During the special operation, the SBU had to constantly solve diverse tasks, including organizing the import of sanctioned goods, in particular battery stations, into the Russian Federation. Here, the Service’s successful experience in combating transnational crime came in handy.
“Each of the hunting lodges is completely autonomous. They contained EcoFlow batteries, solar panels, and other groups of goods. This made it possible to continuously power the drones. The special operation could take place even in the cool season, and the temperature there sometimes drops below minus 40 degrees. So the drone had to be fully charged. But at the same time, this caused additional difficulties in bringing these lodges to the territory of the Russian Federation. We went through “seven circles of hell” to achieve the result,” the head of the SBU explained.
What drones attacked the Russian strategic aviation?
“At first glance, the drones look like ordinary FPVs, but they are unique. They have several types of communication. The combat component of each UAV consisted of two parts of 800 grams each (i.e. a total of 1,600) of a special mixture that we developed specifically for this operation. It has a high-explosive effect: to burn the aircraft body itself and cause an explosion inside,” Malyuk noted.
All participants in the operation returned to Ukraine
Ukraine, participants in a special operation in the Russian Federation. So, when the truck drivers left for the designated airfields, the Ukrainian agents had already left the territory of Russia.
“They came to me at one of the combat control points and I had the honor to thank them personally,” the head of the Security Service noted.
Preparing for surgery
Preparations for the special operation were carried out in strict secrecy – only a few people knew about the detailed plan. On the appointed day, the best drone operators of the Central Operational Command “A” of the SBU gathered at the combat control point and began to implement the plan.
“The President was in touch with us all the time. He had also been interested in individual details many times before and, frankly, accelerated things somewhere. Since his management activities are, as they say, “don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” And he works in such a way that “do it yesterday” in general,” the SBU Head said.
