The lyceum and warehouses were damaged, and residential buildings were destroyed.

On the night of February 21, the Russian army carried out a massive drone strike on Odessa , which resulted in fires in the city, extensive destruction, and injuries.

As UNIAN was told by Inna Verba, a spokeswoman for the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Russian army massively attacked the city with drones, in particular, energy facilities and the residential sector. As a result of the attack, two private residential buildings, an apartment in a one-story building were completely destroyed, and a lyceum suffered significant damage.

“Roofs, facades, and glazing in two-story and three-story residential buildings were damaged. Four private and three passenger cars burned down. Two civilians were injured – a 46-year-old man who was treated on the spot, and a 70-year-old man who was hospitalized,” Verba said.

An investigation into the facts of war crimes has been launched (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the press service of the regional department  of the State Emergency Service , rescuers worked simultaneously at several locations.

“On one of the streets, two private houses and three cars were destroyed and set on fire. Another 8 neighboring houses, garages, and a gas pipe were damaged. At another location, a private house was destroyed as a result of the hit. A fire broke out on an area of ​​100 sq m, and one person was injured,” the report says.

In addition, damage was recorded to a warehouse building and a fire at an energy infrastructure facility. It is specified that the second floor of the lyceum was destroyed.

Also in the Odessa district, the wall and roof of a private two-story house were damaged, where a person was also injured.

To eliminate the consequences of the night attack, the State Emergency Service deployed more than 60 firefighters and 17 units of fire equipment.

According to the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper, damage was sustained, including to the warehouses of an energy company.
