On the night of April 9, a series of powerful explosions rocked the occupied city of Alchevsk, Luhansk Oblast. The target of the attack in the city was a Russian army equipment repair and maintenance base.
After the flights arrived, a severe fire broke out on the territory of the enemy facility. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.
What is known about the attack?
According to preliminary data, the first explosions in Alchevsk occurred after midnight. It was at this time that occupation resources warned of the danger of a UAV attack on the territory of the occupied Luhansk region.
In addition to Alchevsk, a series of explosions also occurred in neighboring Perevalsk. There, according to the monitoring channel, the target of the attack was another repair base of the Russian occupiers. Another monitoring channel wrote that the target of the attack in Perevalsk could have been an ammunition depot.
On the eve of the explosions, propagandists complained that the occupied Luhansk region would be attacked by missiles or jet-powered UAVs.
Russian propagandists managed to report during the night that the explosions in Alchevsk and Perevalsk were the result of “successful air defense work.” At the same time, the occupation administrations did not comment on the night explosions in the cities.
As a reminder, fighters of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine neutralized the last railway ferry of the Russian occupiers in Kerch. The strike on the facility was carried out on the night of April 6.
As OBOZ.UA reported, for the first time since the start of the full-scale war in 2022, Ukraine launched more UAVs at Russia than Russia launched at Ukraine. The Defense Forces managed to achieve such indicators in March 2026.
