The past year has been a great challenge for us. The Russian aggressor sought to end the war against Ukraine – but planned to end with a defeat, imposing on us his conditions from a position of power. Tried to capture the rest of the territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia oblasts, the coast of the Kherson region, had intentions to go out to Odessa to actually cut off our access to the sea.

We did not allow critical breakthroughs of the opponent, interrupted his plans, repeatedly forced to postpone the dates of planned operations.
Resisted. Because our soldiers worked on the border, with complete self-sacrifice, inflicting the occupiers maximum losses and reducing within a year the enemy army by more than 418,000 people killed and wounded.

Thanks to the effective combat work, the enemy Defense Forces have not been able to increase their grouping for a long time – because we are destroying already more Russian military than the aggressor country is calling for.

At the same time, during 2025, we managed to reduce the number of personal losses by 13%.

This year proved: we are able to systematically exhaust the enemy and significantly reduce his potential. The defense forces prevented the aggressor from realizing his plans, they maintained strategic positions and prepared the basis for further actions.

⚡️Had another telephone conversation with the Commander of the United States Armed Forces in Europe and Africa – the Commander of the Joint Armed Forces NATO Ground Command General Christopher Donague.

Informed an American colleague about the situation on the frontline, which remains complicated. Despite the significant loss of personnel, armament and military equipment, the Russian aggressor is not giving up on continuing offensive actions.

At the same time, the enemy manages to launch mass missile-air strikes on our rear – targeting energy facilities, using frost as an additional tool of pressure and terror against Ukrainian civilian population.

During December 2025 and early January 2026, the enemy launched six mass rocket and drone strikes on the territory of Ukraine.

Yes, on the night of January 13, a Russian aggressor attacked our energy facilities, other infrastructure and civilian facilities with 25 rockets and 293 assault weapons.

As of 24.02.2022, the number of missiles used by the Russian army has reached over 13.3 thousand. units, impact drones – over 142.3 thousand. units.

In this context, our primary need is the strengthening of the air shield—procurement of anti-aircraft missile complexes and ammunition, including those that could be implemented by the US side.

Visited the Commander of the US Armed Forces in Europe as well as other critical needs of our army that can be met through the PURL initiative.

He emphasized that in the current realities, achieving a sustainable ceasefire in Ukraine is only possible provided that there is increased consolidated pressure on the enemy by our Western partners.

I appropriately thanked General Christopher Donague, President and People of the United States of America for their support of Ukraine and their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

⚡️I held a phone call with the Commanding General of United States Army Europe and Africa and Commander of NATO Allied Land Command, General Christopher Donahue.

I briefed my American colleague on the situation along the frontline, which remains difficult. Despite significant losses in personnel, weapons and military equipment, the russian aggressor continues its offensive operations.

At the same time, the enemy is resorting to massive missile and air strikes against our rear areas, deliberately targeting energy facilities and using freezing temperatures as an additional instrument of pressure and terror against Ukrainians.

During December 2025 and in early January 2026, the enemy carried out six large-scale missile and drone attacks on the territory of Ukraine.

Thus, on the night of the 13th of January, the russian aggressor attacked our energy facilities, as well as other infrastructure and civilian sites, with 25 missiles and 293 strike UAVs.

Since 24 February 2022, the number of missiles used by the russian army has exceeded 13.3 thousand, while the number of attack drones has surpassed 142.3 thousand.

In this context, our top priority is to strengthen Ukraine’s air shield by obtaining air defence systems and munitions, in particular those that can be provided by the American side.

I also briefed the Commander of U.S. Army Europe on other critical needs of our Armed Forces that can be addressed within the PURL initiative.

I emphasized that under the current circumstances, achieving a sustainable ceasefire in Ukraine is possible only through increased consolidated pressure on the aggressor from our Western partners.

I also expressed my personal gratitude to General Christopher Donahue, as well as to the President and the people of the United States of America, for their support of Ukraine and for their efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
