The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue active combat operations near Kupyansk and focus on destroying the enemy on the northern and eastern approaches to the city. The operations will continue in designated areas and will have clear priorities.
This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, commenting on the further plans of the Ukrainian military. He voiced these theses in an interview with Channel 24, where he discussed in detail the situation in the Kupyansk direction.
Syrsky stressed that the key task remains the destruction of the enemy’s supply routes. “The main task is to destroy the supply routes. Especially the pipelines that pass through – there are more than one of them there. We will definitely do this,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.
Defense and inspections
Syrsky also drew attention to the need not only to maintain strong defenses on the approaches to Kupyansk, but also to continue systematic work directly in the city. These are clearing and filtering measures, which, according to him, require time and resources. He emphasized that such actions are important for security and stability in the liberated territories.
“Counter-sabotage measures must be continued for a long time, because the huge area of the city requires a detailed inspection of each house,” explained Syrsky. According to him, this is currently being done by servicemen of the counter-sabotage group, who work directly in Kupyansk. The work, as he specified, is going on in stages and without haste.
Situation in the direction
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops are trying to compensate for their previous failures near the city, but without tangible results. This was previously stated by the head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov. At the same time, according to him, the enemy is being cleared in Kupyansk itself.
The most important task remains to prevent the enemy from using crossings and hidden approaches. That is why attention is paid to engineering structures and communications that can be used to transfer forces. The Ukrainian military continues to act according to this plan, gradually strengthening control over the situation in the city area.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the General Staff denied Putin’s lies about the alleged complete occupation of Gulyaipol and Myrnograd by Russia. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, positions of the Defense Forces remain in these cities.
The Russian dictator also lied about occupying half of Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk, which the Kremlin “captured” back in September. The General Staff also denies that Putin and his troops once again “liberated” Kupyansk.

Ukraine are not banking on any russian/US peace deal. They are already preparing to hammer more nails into putler’s failed state.
It’s the only right thing to do.
I concede that Krasnov is interested in a peace deal, but only one that is acceptable to his controller.
He said of putler : “he might be tapping me along.”
No; he’s being pulled along willingly; even going along with an obvious false flag attack on a putler palace.
It’s Krasnov who is doing the “tapping along” : with Zel and all of Ukraine’s allies, who are still too weak to recognise that fact and take the action needed to end the war on terms that are fair for Ukraine.
