The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck one of the largest oil depots in Russia: details from the General Staff

On the night of December 14, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck one of the largest oil product terminals in the suburbs of Orel, Russia. The successful attack was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of December 14, 2024, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the “Steel Horse” linear production control station in the Oryol region of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

It is noted that as a result of the damage, a powerful fire broke out.

“The Steel Horse linear production and dispatching station is part of the Russian military-industrial complex, which ensures the supply of petroleum products to the Russian army,” the General Staff noted. 

The results of the combat operation are currently being clarified.

As UNIAN reported, on the night of December 14, drones attacked an oil depot in the Oryol region of the Russian Federation , causing a large-scale fire. This became known from Russian public media, and the information was later confirmed by local authorities.

The governor of the Oryol region stated that “as a result of a massive drone attack, fuel caught fire at an infrastructure facility, and fragments from downed drones damaged the windows of several private houses.”
