Vice President Delcy Rodriguez is to take over as acting president of Venezuela .

This was ruled by the country’s Supreme Court, Reuters reports . The court explained its decision by saying that Rodriguez’s appointment to this position is important “to ensure administrative continuity and the comprehensive protection of the country.”

In addition, as the New York Times (NYT) reports, citing a law enforcement official familiar with the transportation route of Nicolas Maduro, a helicopter carrying the ousted Venezuelan president landed in Brooklyn near the Detention Center, where he will be held until trial.

The (NYT) also reported that a police officer near the Detention Center informed those present near the building through a loudspeaker that Maduro had already entered the facility.

The crowd of people began to cheer, sing, and wave Venezuelan flags.

Maduro’s capture: news

As UNIAN reported, US President Donald Trump previously stated that his country would participate in further changes in Venezuela after the capture of Nicolas Maduro in order to prevent the coming to power of a person like him.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed the opinion that the United States could solve the problem with some other dictators in the same way as it solved the problem with Maduro .
