Second Largest Military Logistics Center to Be Opened in Europe to Ensure Necessary Supplies of Weapons to Ukraine

December 20, 2025

Until now, the only major logistics center for the supply of weapons and military equipment was Rzeszow, Poland, but it seems that now the partners want to diversify the routes of supplies to Ukraine or double their intensity

Anew logistics center should be operational in Romania from January 2026, which will be responsible for the coordination and transit of weapons to Ukraine.

Plans to expand the infrastructure for military support for Ukraine were confirmed by the Deputy Commander of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU), General Mike Keller.

This was reported by Defense Romania.

In fact, we are talking about the creation of a second major logistics hub in Romania, similar to the one currently operating in Rzeszow, Poland. Until now, the latter served as the main “artery” through which weapons and military equipment were supplied to Ukraine. The Romanian logistics center will work in tandem with the Polish one.

It is noted that thanks to the logistics center in Romania, NATO will be able to double the capacity to transit weapons supplied by partners to Ukraine, including within the framework of the PURL mechanism, when the United States supplies Ukraine with weapons paid for by European countries.

This is positive news for Ukraine, because the creation of a new logistics hub will reduce the risk of dependence on the supply of weapons from a single logistics center in Poland. It is about the supply of critical equipment for the stability of Ukraine’s defense: air defense systems, missiles for them, ammunition, etc.

It is noted that the new logistics center in Romania will come under the direct command of NATO, integrating into the system of coordination of operational needs (artillery, air defense, electronic warfare) with the availability of donor funds. To understand the volume of assistance, Keller revealed data that in 2025, about 220 thousand tons of military aid were sent to Ukraine, which is approximately 9,000 trucks, 1,800 cars as well as 500 aircraft with weapons and military equipment.
