Veronika Kozhushko was fascinated by Ukrainian culture, as well as the works of Serhiy Zhadan and composer Yuriy Gurzha.
During the airstrikes on Kharkov on August 30, artist Nika Kozhushko died. Her death was reported by writer Serhiy Zhadan.
“Today during the shelling in Kharkov, Nika Kozhushko died – very young, sincere and gifted. An hour before her death, she sent her new drawing. That is, her last drawing,” he wrote.

Zhadan added that the Russians continue to destroy our future and “there is no explanation for this, and there is no forgiveness either.”
Veronika Kozhushko admired Ukrainian culture, as well as the work of Serhiy Zhadan and composer Yuriy Gurzha, Suspilne reported in one of its reports.
Poetess Tatyana Vlasova also responded to the tragic news.
“Veronika Kozhushko gave me this drawing a few weeks ago at the Theater on Podol in Kyiv. We had not met before, but now I have her drawing. Today, during the shelling of Kharkov, Veronika died. She was 18,” Vlasova wrote.
Deputy editor-in-chief of Vivat publishing house Elena Rybka added that Veronica “was a ray of light” and had a very subtle sense of what she was drawing.

There are now 77 known victims in Kharkov, 18 of whom are children, the State Emergency Service reported. The number of fatalities has not changed – seven people. Debris removal and fire suppression are ongoing.
