The pilot of the second plane might be swapping his plane for a turtle tank after this almighty cock-up. Are the russian pilots only given a weeks training before they are sent out. A suspicious guy might be thinking this was done on purpose. Why would he release missiles knowing his wingman was directly in front of him?
Maybe he was drunk? Maybe he wants to defect?
