The Russian Federation considers the 20-point peace plan finalized by Ukraine and the United States only as a “starting point,” meaning the Kremlin will not agree to these proposals. The aggressor country wants to change the document.
This was reported by Bloomberg on December 24 , citing a source close to the Kremlin. Apparently, the negotiations and diplomatic settlement are still far from being completed.
What doesn’t suit Russia?
The interlocutor reported that the current plan “lacks provisions important for the Russian Federation, and it does not answer many questions.”
The aggressor country will seek to tighten restrictions on the post-war Armed Forces of Ukraine , in particular their weapons.
Moscow is also concerned about guarantees of non-expansion of NATO to the east, as well as Ukraine’s neutral status in the event of its accession to the European Union.
Also, according to the source, the latest proposals “do not contain clear guarantees” about the status of the Russian language in Ukraine.
Moreover, Russia wants clarity on the issue of lifting sanctions and regarding its assets frozen in the West.
Russia continues to demand that Ukraine cede territory in the Donbas region that dictator Vladimir Putin’s forces have failed to capture in nearly four years of fighting. Ukraine rejects the demand, fearing that handing over the fortified area would leave the country vulnerable to another attack.
The source called the current document (which already demands concessions from Kyiv) “a fairly typical Ukrainian plan.” Moscow “will study it in cold blood,” the unnamed source told the journalists.
What preceded
The United States’ hopes for a peace agreement by Christmas were dashed.
Putin has not yet commented on the latest proposals for a settlement. On Wednesday, December 24, the dictator’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, who met with the US delegation in Florida last weekend, had briefed Putin on the results of the meetings. The Kremlin will soon resume contacts with America about its position.
Currently (as of December 24), there are no plans for Putin to hold talks with Trump, Peskov added.

As OBOZ.UA previously wrote:
– In the Russian Federation, there is talk of “ending the war” in 2026. The corresponding “forecast” was voiced by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research, controlled by the Kremlin.
– The Levada Center found that in December 2025, about half of Russians continued to closely monitor events surrounding the war against Ukraine, while an increasing number of respondents advocated a transition to peace negotiations .

So, now that the mafia state did exactly that, what even my dog knew they would do, will Congress now send Tomahawks, as the big mouth Lindsey proclaimed just the other day?
I might open a betting booth. Anyone want to place a bet on what Congress will do?
