Residents of Vyborg in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation complained about a drone attack last night. Explosions and the work of Russian air defenses could be heard in the city.
The consequences of the attack in the local port are known, with a ship on fire and a fire in one of the buildings. Details were collected by Exilenova+ and Supernova+ in local Russian Telegram channels .
What is known
The explosions in Vyborg became known closer to the morning.
“Vyborg, Leningrad Region. Locals report that the port has been attacked, the ship and one of the buildings are on fire,” the author of the Supernova+ channel noted at around 5 a.m.
Exilenova+, citing reports from local residents, clarified that a dry cargo ship in the port was damaged after the attack.
The Russians actively filmed video from the scene.
Soon after, it became known that ambulances and fire trucks rushed to the arrival site: the MSCH employees began extinguishing the fire.
Later, Supernova+ noted that the building of JSC Agricola caught fire in Vyborg after a UAV attack.
“Opposite, about 30 meters away, is the FSB (border guard) building – the former Finnish naval school. Obviously, the target of the drone could have been the FSB building,” the channel’s author wrote.
Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko announced shortly after 6 a.m. that “56 UAVs were eliminated over the Leningrad Region during the air threat” and that ” the roof of a residential building was damaged in Vyborg.”
As OBOZ.UA reported, it was previously reported that a massive fire broke out in the Russian port of Ust-Luga after a drone attack. This port is also located in the Leningrad Region and was attacked on the night of March 25.
