On the night of March 23, explosions were heard in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation : the region was attacked by drones. The port in Primorsk, one of Russia’s largest oil export terminals on the Baltic Sea, was hit.

The attack was reported by the Telegram channel Exilenova+. According to local authorities, a fire broke out in the port.

According to  Exilenova+, the attacked port is important, in particular, for the functioning of the Russian shadow fleet.

” The country’s largest oil port in this direction, with a capacity of up to 75 million tons per year, is operated by Transneft. It is from here that the main volume of Urals crude oil is shipped, including through the “shadow fleet” to circumvent sanctions.  The defeat of such a node directly affects export logistics and foreign exchange earnings of the Russian Federation,” the report states.

They added that after updating data from NASA FIRMS satellites, it became known that a light petroleum transshipment terminal was also on fire.

“It is worth noting separately that we are talking not only about oil infrastructure, but also about terminals for transshipment of light petroleum products – gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. This is a finished product with higher added value, so the destruction of such facilities hits the most profitable part of exports and may affect the provision of military logistics of the Russian Federation,” Exilenova+ emphasized.

The attack was forced to be confirmed by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko.

“A fuel tank was damaged in the port of Primorsk, a fire broke out. Firefighting is underway, personnel have been evacuated. Combat work to repel the attack is ongoing,” the Russian official wrote at around 4 a.m.

By that time, according to him, Russian air defense had allegedly “shot down” 35 UAVs. And half an hour later he announced “more than 50 drones destroyed.”

Complaints about the drone attack in the Leningrad region began the day before. The local governor, Alexander Drozdenko, informed the Russians about the “UAV threat” announcement that afternoon. Since then, he has been carefully counting the “downed” drones.

At the same time, Drozdenko did not mention other “achievements” of Russian air defense: in addition to footage of the flare over the port territory, videos of the occupiers’ “work” not only on drones, but also on populated areas of the region, appeared on the network.

One such video, according to the Russian independent publication ASTRA, captured the explosion of a Russian air defense missile a kilometer from a military factory in the city of Gatchin.

“The ASTRA OSINT analyst analyzed the footage and concluded that the video recorded the explosion of a Russian air defense missile. According to our analysis, the explosion occurred in a residential area near School No. 12. Approximately a kilometer from the explosion site is the revolving enterprise “VISKOM” – Joint-Stock Company “Special Design and Technological Bureau “VISKOM”… The enterprise specializes in the development and production of close combat weapons and explosive devices; the creation of special means for the needs of law enforcement agencies . It is included in the register of organizations of the defense-industrial complex (DIC) of the Russian Federation,” the message states.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the other day in Togliatti, Russia, drones hit an important chemical plant, causing a fire there.

In addition, the General Staff confirmed the damage to the Saratov refinery. An oil processing unit and a tank were damaged at the enterprise.
