A fire has broken out at an oil refinery following a drone attack on the village of Novominskaya in the Kanevskaya district in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

Details: Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters stated that “a fire has broken out at the oil refinery due to falling debris from UAVs”.
Early reports from Russian authorities indicated no casualties as a result of the fire.
Reports on social media suggested that the Albashneft oil refinery had been hit.
Update: Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters added after midnight that the fire at the refinery had spread across 150 sq m. It is being tackled by 39 firefighters and 13 fire appliances.
Background:
- The authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai claimed on 15 February that a “large-scale attack” had been carried out on the region which they say damaged a fuel storage tank, a warehouse and terminals and other facilities.
- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Ukrainian forces had struck the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal near the settlement of Volna in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
