03/25/2026

Another fire broke out in the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region of the aggressor country Russia on the night of March 25. The port caught fire after a Ukrainian UAV attack and a series of explosions in the region.

The successful attack by Ukrainian drones on the port of Ust-Luga has been confirmed by local authorities. According to Governor Oleksandr Drozdenko, a total of 33 drones were allegedly destroyed over the region.

In turn, the OSINT community Exilenova+ found photos and videos from the scene. According to comments from ordinary Russians, the explosions in the Leningrad region are still ongoing.

According to Dnipro Osint ⟨Garbuz⟩, the Novatek-Ust-Luga plant, which has already been targeted before, could be under attack.

“UAVs attacked the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region. According to geointelligence analysis, the NOVATEK-Ust-Luga plant was previously hit once again,” the message states.

Supernova+ claims that more than one tank has caught fire. According to locals, a large-scale fire is raging in the port area.

The Novatek plant, located on the port’s territory, processes stable gas condensate, a by-product of natural gas and oil production. It also ships petroleum products for export.

What is it about?

Ust-Luga is the largest port under construction on the Baltic Sea and the second largest in Russia after Novorossiysk.

After midnight, the head of the region declared the danger of UAVs in the region’s airspace and warned of a “possible decrease in internet speed.”

Flights were “restricted” at the main airport in the Pulkovo region that night (according to Rosaviatsia, “restrictions” were introduced at six airports in total ), and more than 10 flights were delayed for departure.

In the Leningrad region, a fire has been going on for the second day at an oil depot in the port of Primorsk. The fire broke out on the night of March 23, and since then the facility has not been completely extinguished. The thick smoke is so extensive that even satellites can detect it, despite the dense cloud cover.

Drozdenko said at the time that more than 50 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. But even with that many resources, the fire could not be stopped.

As OBOZ.UA reported, after the drone attacks, the aggressor country Russia temporarily suspended oil exports through the ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga in the Baltic Sea. One of the ports has partially resumed operations, but the other remains closed after the strikes.
