Six Russian citizens have been ordered to leave the country in the near future.

Citizens of the Russian Federation who do not have a residence permit in Latvia have been ordered to leave the country.

According to  Der Standart , according to the migration department, six Russians received the corresponding notification. As the head of the department, Maira Rose, clarified, two of them have already left the country, and the rest will do so within 30 days.

These measures are related to changes in the country’s immigration legislation, adopted in the fall of 2022 in response to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Now every Russian, if he wishes to live legally in Latvia, must apply for permanent resident status and confirm his knowledge of the Latvian language in an exam.

Those Russians who have not met the requirements for obtaining a residence permit must leave the country.

According to authorities, there are currently approximately a thousand Russians living in Latvia who are subject to deportation.

  1. I hope Latvia won’t deport the wrong people. Most Putler-asslickers have latvian citizenship. Not that i would support deporting any people because of their native language or ethnicity, i do not. Therefore Latvia should be careful not to deport people who fled RuSSia because they dislike Putler. There’s ethnic ruSSians fighting for Ukraine, including partizans in RuSSia. 🤔

    • I agree. The problem, though, is the vetting part, to separate the Russians from the russians.

  2. RuSSia keeps hiring indians to work in RuSSia, but the men in fact get forced to fight in Ukraine. India launched an investigation.

    Trouble in BRICS-land???

  3. Five palestinians killed and several injured by aid package dropped by the US Air Force in Gaza. 🤣
