EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said she will propose a list of concessions that Europe should demand from Russia as part of a peace settlement and an end to the war against Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters in Brussels, Kallas stressed that European consent is essential for any peace agreement.

“Everyone at the negotiating table, including the Russians and the Americans, must understand that European agreement is needed for a peace deal,” Kallas said.

She emphasized that Europe also has its own conditions for a sustainable peace.

“And these conditions should not be imposed on the Ukrainians, who are already under enormous pressure, but on the Russians,” the EU’s top diplomat underlined.
