Iran confirms Khamenei’s death, vows ‘most brutal response’ in history

Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei , who ruled Iran as supreme leader for nearly four decades, has been killed. Iranian state media confirmed Khamenei’s death Sunday morning, hours after U.S. and Israeli officials said he had been killed in a joint strike on his regime, CNN reported.

“Iran’s supreme leader has died a martyr’s death,” state broadcaster IRNA reported .

According to the state-run Fars News Agency, Khamenei was killed “in his office in the leader’s house” while “carrying out his duties” at the time of the attack early Saturday morning.Video of the day

Iranian state media also confirmed the death of the country’s top general and key advisor to Khamenei in US and Israeli attacks.

According to IRNA, Admiral Ali Shamkhani, a key adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and secretary of Iran’s Defense Council, and Major General Mohammad Pakpour, commander-in-chief of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), were killed on Saturday.

In response to Khamenei’s death, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps promised “the most brutal offensive operation in history” against American and Israeli bases.

“The largest offensive operations in the history of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will begin in the near future towards the occupied territories and bases of American terrorists,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned.

The Iranian government said in a statement that “this great crime will never go unanswered and will turn a new page in the history of the Islamic world.”

Meanwhile, the country’s Supreme National Security Council said that joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran “will launch a large-scale uprising against the world’s oppressors,” and Iran and its allies will become “even more resilient and determined.”

US operation against Iran
