At the same time, the independent Russian publication ASTRA named two other possible targets of the attack.

“According to ASTRA’s analysis of eyewitness footage, the fire broke out in the area of two chemical enterprises located not far from each other – Togliattikauchuk and KuibyshevAzot. Thus, the video of the fire published on the Ukrainian channel Exilenova+, according to our analysis, was shot from Banykina Street. The distance to the fire site is 4.6-6 kilometers. It is not yet known which of the enterprises is burning,” the report states.

“Togliattiazot” (TOAZ) is an important chemical plant for the aggressor state. It is among the ten largest ammonia producers in the world: according to various estimates, this enterprise produces from 8% to 10% of the world’s volume. The plant also produces a fifth of all Russian fertilizers. About 85% of the products produced are exported.

However, the plant is also extremely important for the Russian defense industry. After all, without ammonia, mass production of nitric acid is impossible. And nitric acid is a basic component for industrial explosives, military and engineering charges.

In addition, the company produces carbon dioxide, urea, basalt fiber, methanol, reaction tubes for the chemical industry, etc.

In December 2025, this plant was already visited by Ukrainian drones.

As OBOZ.UA reported, it was not only Togliatti that night that was loud. Explosions also thundered in Saratov and Engels. After the “cotton”, Russians complained that their electricity went out.

One of the targets of the attack could have been the Saratov oil refinery. Locals saw a glow over the refinery

  1. Keeping the mafia state burning is the best possible strategy, being far better than the soft strokes it got from many in the spineless West.

🟩 DIPLOMACY — Stubb: Middle East war is strengthening Russia, weakening Ukraine’s position

Finnish President Alexander Stubb put it bluntly.

“I have no illusions about who can convince President Trump on anything. If I get one idea out of ten in on Ukraine, I think it’s good.”

That alone says a lot about the current political landscape.

But his warning goes further — and it’s more urgent.

According to Stubb, the war in the Middle East is already having negative consequences for Ukraine.

    Not in theory.

    In real, measurable ways.

Rising oil prices are feeding Russia’s war economy, giving Moscow breathing room just as sanctions and pressure were starting to bite.

“A couple of weeks ago, the Russian economy was doing extremely badly. Now it’s bouncing back.”

At the same time, resources are being pulled away.

Air defense systems — critical to protecting Ukrainian cities — are being redirected elsewhere.

Stubb pointed to a stark comparison:
    • Around 500–600 systems used in Ukraine over four years
    • Already 800–1,000 systems being used in the Middle East and Gulf region

    That shift matters.

Because every system moved away is one less protecting Ukrainian skies.
