Holocaust Remembrance Day: Passive remembrance has not prevented new genocides

01/27/2026

On January 27, 1945, soldiers of the 1st Ukrainian Front liberated the prisoners of Auschwitz, revealing to the world the truth about the death conveyor that claimed the lives of 6 million Jews, of whom one and a half million were our compatriots.

Today we honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, but at the same time we must acknowledge the bitter truth: passive memory has not become a safeguard against new genocides. Proof of this is the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The world cannot be blinded or taken by surprise. Preventing new tragedies is impossible without a resolute willingness to act proactively and without the inevitable punishment of war criminals. Only fair retribution for crimes can ensure that the slogan “Never Again” finally becomes a reality.

But Taco is doing the complete opposite. Instead of punishing the mass murderer in moscovia, he wants to reward him with chunks of Ukrainian territory.
