The German concern Rheinmetall and the American Lockheed Martin are creating a joint venture to produce ATACMS, GMLRS, Hellfire, JAGM and PAC-3 missiles.
According to Hartpunkt , large-scale production of missiles and rockets, including weapons for the Patriot air defense system, will be deployed in Europe to reduce dependence on the United States and speed up deliveries.
Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said the reason for this is that the US production capacity is not enough to meet demand in Europe. “Sometimes you have to wait ten years to get missiles from America, it’s too long,” he said.
Papperger added that the company plans to control 60% of the joint venture. The capacity will allow it to produce up to 10,000 missiles per year. Production is scheduled to start in 2026-2027.

Maybe we should let the chinese make them? But, the Germans will probably be able to reduce the manufacturing time, especially if they get Ukraine involved. That would also reduce the cost.
