The Ukrainian company First Parsec has received a contract to produce the SHOOM-20 pulse jet engine (PJE).
This was reported on the company’s official Telegram channel.
The contract covers a batch of engines for flight and technical testing of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Based on the engine’s performance, the drone’s flight speed is expected to reach 400 km/h.
The engine delivers 20 kg of thrust and provides up to 17 minutes of continuous operation.
The developers’ goal is to achieve stable engine operation for up to two hours.
Such endurance would allow the platform to cover a distance of about 800 kilometers.
The current price of the engine is $750 per unit.

For large orders, the company said it is prepared to reduce the price to $500 per unit.

For a regular turbojet engine in the same power class, the cost is around $3000- 5000. This new pulse jet engine will make Ukrainian drones fast and cheap. Just what the country needs to destroy the cockroaches and their material.
A parsec is approximately 3.6 light years; an astronomical measure of distance not time.
What a cool name!
