On the night of December 19, explosions were heard in several regions of the Russian Federation : Russians complained about a Ukrainian attack. Rostov-on-Don was probably hit by a missile strike, after which the city went dark.
The results of the night were similar for the city of Orel, which was also partially cut off from power after the explosions – the CHP and transformer equipment were hit there. Details are reported by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.
Consequences of the night attack in the Rostov region
Exilenova+ reported that a local “blackout” had occurred in Rostov-on-Don at around 2:30 a.m.
“Part of Rostov without power after arrivals,” the message states.

It seems that the capital of one of the border regions of the Russian Federation was plunged into darkness not by the usual drones, but by something more powerful.
“Probably the moment of the missile strike on Rostov, after which half of the city lost power,” Exilenova+ noted, publishing footage of the moment of the strike, shot from different angles.
Consequences of the night attack in the Oryol region
Similar events took place that night in the Oryol region of the Russian Federation.
“Orel. Local residents report two rocket strikes. The first rocket hit a CHP plant, the second hit transformer equipment. The lights went out in part of the city ,” Exilenova+ noted.

The attack was also confirmed by local governor Andriy Klychkov. He “consoled” Orel residents by saying that in addition to electricity, hot water and heat may also disappear from their apartments.
“As a result of the enemy attack, damage was received to a municipal infrastructure facility in the city of Oryol. According to preliminary information, there are no victims. Emergency crews are carrying out repair work, and therefore short-term restrictions on heat, power and hot water supply in the Sovietsky district of the city of Oryol are possible,” the official wrote.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the oil tanker “Valery Gorchakov” was hit in Rostov; it is part of the “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation.
This happened the day before, explosions also thundered in Bataysk, Russia, and the power went out in a number of settlements.
