Ukrainian air defenses were able to shoot down all the cruise missiles used by the enemy during another massive Russian strike , Colonel Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force, announced during a telethon.

According to him, during the attack, Russia used about 500 air attack weapons. Among them were ballistic missiles – Iskander-M, as well as two Zircon anti-ship missiles.

Patriot systems were deployed against ballistic targets, which resulted in the interception of most of these missiles. At the same time, Ukrainian air defense forces achieved a rare result – a 100% shooting down of cruise missiles, in particular the X-101 and Caliber types.

“First of all, this is the merit of the pilots – the Air Force Commander notes the work of the F-16 pilots and others who shot down most of the cruise missiles today. Also, the anti-aircraft gunners of the 96th Kyiv Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade did a good job in shooting down the missiles,” said Ignat.

In addition, significant results were shown by the crews of interceptor drones and anti-aircraft drones, which managed to destroy a significant part of the strike UAVs. Army helicopters and mobile fire group units, which have dozens of downed targets, also participated in repelling the attack.
