Russian air defenses reportedly shot down a light aircraft in Kolomna, near Moscow, killing two people on board.
Russia’s air defense system likely downed the small plane in the Moscow region town of Kolomna, and the crew was killed, reports MNS on Telegram, citing an anonymous source.
Russian air defense forces reportedly mistook the aircraft for a Ukrainian drone and opened what is known as “friendly fire” on the wrong target.
The light aircraft was reportedly hit, causing the pilot to lose control. The plane then crashed near the Oka River.
Both people on board were killed in the incident.
The attack on Moscow began on March 14. At the time, 65 of 300 Ukrainian drones were reportedly headed toward the Russian capital.
Moscow faces a third straight day of drone attacks as the Kremlin remains under heavy protection.
