European countries should be prepared for a Russian attack as early as 2027.

European countries should be ready for a Russian attack as early as 2027, as Putin’s plans include the occupation of the Baltic states. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with LB.

“According to the main plan, the Russian Federation was supposed to be ready to start operations in 2030. Now the plans have been adjusted, revised towards reducing the deadlines to 2027,” he noted.

Budanov added that the main direction of Russian aggression will be the Baltic states. He explained that the reasons lie in the worldview of the Russians, because in order for an empire to develop, it must constantly expand its influence and territory, and this is the only, in the opinion of the Russian Federation, “safe” direction.

“In the north – only the Arctic Ocean and further around the circle – America. Not an option, because it will hurt. In the east – the Pacific Ocean and again America. The answer is the same. In the south – China, it will be completely catastrophic – a land border, there will be the same conditions as we have in the war with the Russian Federation, only for them. Only the West remains, which in their understanding, excuse the phraseology, is “gluttonous”, “sick”, “weak” and “indecisive”, – noted the head of the GUR.

According to him, Russia plans to occupy the Baltic states, while Poland is “considered purely for strikes, for a military campaign without capture.”

Putin’s plans for Europe

As Reuters reported, citing US intelligence, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not plan to limit himself  to Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhia . The Kremlin wants to take over all of Ukraine, as well as the territories of other former Soviet bloc countries, including current NATO members.

According to the WSJ, European security officials now regularly urge the public to prepare for a potential war with Russia – a statement that seemed unthinkable a decade ago.

At the same time, Vice Admiral of the Royal Navy of Great Britain Mike Attlee stated that NATO’s armed forces currently lack the resilience for a protracted war with Russia .
