Amazon has stopped delivering goods to customers living in Russia and Belarus, and has closed access to its Amazon Prime video service to Russian customers.
This was reported in the official blog of the company.
“We have suspended the delivery of retail products to customers based in Russia and Belarus, and will no longer accept new AWS customers from Russia and Belarus and Amazon’s third-party vendors,” the statement said.
The company is also suspending access to Prime Video for customers from Russia, and will not accept orders for New World – the only video game that Amazon sells directly in this country.
“Unlike some other technology providers in the United States, Amazon and AWS do not have data centers, infrastructure or offices in Russia, and we have a long-standing policy of not doing business with the Russian government,” the statement said.
Earlier, Amazon also stopped selling its cloud computing division Amazon Web Services in Russia.
In addition, Amazon has announced support for Ukrainian IT organizations to counter hostile cyberattacks and protect critical infrastructure. Джерело: https://biz.censor.net/n3323344
