Attack on Moscow
According to preliminary information, more than 100 drones crossed Russian airspace. Rosaviatsiya reported that Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports suspended operations due to the announcement of the “Carpet” plan. Russian air defenses “shot down” 20 drones on approach to the Russian capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on his Telegram channel.
The first restrictions were in effect from 3:25 PM to 4:40 PM Moscow time, The Moscow Times reports . Forty minutes later, temporary airspace restrictions were reintroduced at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo airports , allowing flights only “with the approval of authorized agencies.” Less than an hour later, flights were completely restricted again.

Strikes against Russia – what is known
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Ukraine attacked Russia’s Oryol Oblast with long-range kamikaze drones. The attack targeted the Pugachevka helicopter airfield of the Russian Aerospace Forces, destroying two aircraft: an Mi-8 and a Ka-52.
Prior to this, the Ukrainian army carried out a series of missile and drone strikes on Russian territory from February 17 to 19. The strikes targeted critical infrastructure and enemy oil depots using HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
According to OBOZ.UA, explosions were also heard in the Russian Republic of Chuvashia. Local authorities confirmed the shelling but attempted to downplay its impact, stating there were no casualties or damage to “major buildings.” Preliminary reports indicate that the VNIIR-Progress defense enterprise was damaged.
