The SBU notes that the special operation took place simultaneously in three time zones and was extremely complex from a logistical point of view.

The Security Service of Ukraine carried out an unprecedented and unique special operation to simultaneously destroy four military airfields in the rear of the Russian Federation, where enemy aircraft are deployed. As reported by the press service of the SBU, this was reported by the Chairman of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk.
He also noted that as a result of drone strikes, 41 aircraft were hit, including the A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22 M3 and Tu-160.
The report notes that the head of the SBU headed the working team that prepared the special operation “Web” for more than a year and a half.
According to Malyuk, the special operation “Web” took place simultaneously in three time zones and was extremely complex from a logistical point of view.
“So, first the SBU sent FPV drones to Russia, and then mobile wooden houses. Once on the territory of the Russian Federation, the drones were hidden under the roofs of the houses, placed on trucks. At the right moment, the roofs of the houses were opened remotely, and the drones flew to hit specific targets – Russian bombers,” the head of the SBU said.
He emphasized that Ukraine had worked on absolutely legal targets – military airfields and aircraft that bomb our peaceful cities.
“Therefore, on our part, there is a real demilitarization of the Russian Federation, because we are destroying military targets. And our strikes will continue exactly as long as the Russian Federation terrorizes Ukrainians with missiles and martyrs,” the head of the SBU added.
He noted that the drones worked on targets at four Russian military airfields at once – “Belaya”, “Dyagilevo”, “Olenya” and “Ivanovo”. And thanks to the plan, it was possible to simultaneously hit the largest number of enemy aircraft. Malyuk noted:
“In general, we are talking about the defeat of 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main airfields of the Russian Federation. This was not just a crushing blow to enemy aviation, but a serious slap in the face to the power and terrorist essence of the Russian Federation.”
According to him, the estimated cost of the enemy’s damaged strategic aviation amounts to more than 7 billion US dollars.
He thanked all the employees of the Service who were involved in this historic special operation, emphasizing that all of its participants have been in Ukraine for a long time.
“The enemy thought that it could bomb Ukraine and kill Ukrainians with impunity and endlessly, but that is not the case. We will respond to Russian terror and destroy the enemy everywhere – at sea, in the air and on land. And if necessary, we will get them from under the ground,” the head of the SBU said.
Malyuk noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky set the task of destroying enemy bombers and personally supervised the progress of the special operation. According to him, this is retribution to the enemy for bombing our country from these planes almost every night.
Operation Spider Web – Details
As UNIAN reported, the Ukrainian special service carried out a large-scale special operation to destroy bomber aircraft in the rear of the Russian Federation.
Washington Post columnist Max Boot emphasized that Ukraine’s attack on Russian airfields played the same role in military history as Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, completely rewriting the rules of war .
The attack on Pearl Harbor marked the rise of aircraft carriers as the dominant force in naval warfare. For its part, the Ukrainian drone strike on Russian fighters exposed the vulnerability of air bases around the world.
Booth notes that with this attack the Ukrainians have exposed a critical vulnerability “that should keep every general in the world awake at night,” because if drones can be brought so close to major air bases in a militarized state like Russia, what’s to stop the Chinese from doing the same to US air bases, or the Pakistanis to Indian or South Korean air bases.
Bout believes that the operation will not be a decisive blow to the Russian military, but it shows that the Ukrainians are proving to be far more resilient and adaptive fighters than anyone expected before Russia launched a full-scale invasion.
He stressed that Sunday’s attack by Ukraine could also undermine nuclear stability, since the same bombers that launch conventional cruise missiles against Ukraine are also designed to launch nuclear weapons.

It seems I remember that the habitual invaders only had 4 A-50s to begin with and I believe we have now hit 3 of them. They must be severely limited with the air intel by now especially since their S400s are working so well……….
Does anyone remember differently?
