In a powerful statement, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher highlighted that wars are not instigated by a buildup of arms but when aggressors believe they can achieve their objectives at an acceptable price.

๐Ÿ”น Key Highlights:
โœ… Thatcher on the 1939 War She emphasized that the outbreak of World War II was not due to an arms race but the belief of a tyrant that other nations lacked the resolve to resist his ambitions.

โœ… Bismarckโ€™s Wisdom Quoting Bismarckโ€™s infamous line: โ€œDo I want war? Of course not! I want victory!โ€ Thatcher underlined the strategic mindset of aggressors who believe they can win without facing significant opposition.

โœ… The Role of Western Resolve Thatcher urged that the West must make it clear that any potential aggressor will face an intolerable price, reinforcing the importance of both capacity and resolve in deterring war.

Great leader! Iron Lady!

Paulina Lisek

Love this one! Honestly, watching Thatcher speak reminds me how much we’re missing that kind of clear, respectful communication today. She was genuinely brilliant-not just powerful, but also knew how to make her points. Not to mention the audience, look how they listen. Definitely something we could use more of right now.

Paulina: Exactly my thoughts!
Thank you.

We Americans havenโ€™t had a chance to elect a deserving Presidential Candidate since 1999 and a deserving President since 2008 & we missed them both.

Had we elected Senator John McCain we wouldnโ€™t have been in the current mess. Putin wouldโ€™ve known his placeโ€ฆ

We used to have:

  • mostly guts & brains.
    Instead, we got:
  • more guts than brains,
  • no guts, no brains.

Now we are sliding into a new dimension:

  • assuring REALLY BAD GUY Putin, who understands ONLY strength, of American pacifism (while bullying โ€˜littleโ€™ bad guys with fire without reservations);
  • rewarding Putin for murdering our Ally & threatening our closest Friends;
  • promoting future WW3 by forcing ill-conceived negotiations that could only strengthen our enemy & would likely weaken our Ally;
  • helping our enemy by punishing our Allies for our own M0R0NlSM;
  • promoting European weapon manufacturers & lay-offs in American weapon industry;
  • increasing inflation, enabling recession, triggering no-win trade wars & promoting unemployment by M0R0NlC sanctions on friends, while cancelling sanctions on enemies;
  • threatening annexations of our Allies Canada & Greenland / Denmark from whom weโ€™ve always had only full cooperation, thus alienating our friends.

The World has always been lucky when there were more than one Leader like that in a generation.

We have only one now – President Zelensky.

President Zelensky was the ONLY adult in the room in the Oval Office on Friday, February 28, 2025.

President Trump doesnโ€™t understand this geopolitical situation, he never has (neither did President Biden). Instead of making the effort to begin to understand, or to call upon one or more experts in the United States who do, President Trump has surrounded himself with a group of yes men and women and is resorting to bullying President Zelensky, for which he has no reason.

Instead of making a real stand against Putin for the safety of entire Europe & the World the White House continues bullying Ukraine into Iโ€™ll-conceived negotiations that can only result in the expansion of Putinโ€™s current hybrid war against us into full-blown WW3 !

A total sack of shit named David Robertson trolled the comments:

I’m sick of NATO. James A. Baker made guarantees of no further Eastern expansion after Poland would join NATO in 1990 to Premier Gorbachev, who accepted Poland would join. NATO kept poking the bear and now is mad the bear bit back. The left are now virtue signalling at the cost of Ukranian lives and do not care, hating Trump is more important to other people’s lives to them. Zelensky gets away with money laundering and the TDS sufferers love him for it.

And here I am surrounded by Ukranians telling me they know this war is a big scam. I guess they don’t know better than the radical left wing warmongering lunatics.

Tony Gradwell

Tim De Zitter which is why your last point is particularly relevant to the US threat to take Canada. I doubt if +40m Canadians will just roll over. No, there’ll be a guerilla war the like of which the world will dread to see. Both will lose, but the US will be broken, whilst Canada will recover.

Christopher J. Wajnikonis

Ukraine & the West should never agree to anything but the 1991 Ukraineโ€™s borders. Anything else wouldnโ€™t hold.

In order for the geopolitics to regain stability Putin MUST BE DEFEATED IN UKRAINE. If he isnโ€™t heโ€™ll grab whatever he doesnโ€™t get in the โ€˜negotiationโ€™ 5 minutes later, or maybe 5 years, as President Zelensky & the Danes have recently noted. With Ukraine likely disarmed, who would stop him? Thatโ€™s what Putin has always done after anything he had signed, & doing that in Ukraine wouldโ€™ve been much more certain because of 2 additional reasons:

  • Ukraine is larger & more precious than any other Country he ravaged in the past.
  • His serfs expect it & he could loose his hide if he didnโ€™t.

The U.S., the U.K. & whoever else wishes to help should enforce 100% DEFENSIVE, Budapest Memorandum no-fly zone above Ukraine & its perimeter. Putin has no way, or any tactical interest to challenge it. If he does, heโ€™d loose his air force & with the airspace secure the Ukrainians would finish off what remains of his army. He would be pressed to withdraw on the Ukrainian conditions. Crimea & Donbas would return to Ukraine.

Most likely thatโ€™d cost us ONLY jet fuel. A bargain for no WW3!

Anya Lauchlan

The intolerable price by Trump’s logic is โ€ฆ? Punishing the victims of aggression, a bully’s way of peace making.

Brian McLaughlin

The Brits get it!

Reply from Richard Faint:

Brian McLaughlin : Yes we do! As we did in WWI & WWII.
We did it but only with help – without the commonwealth we couldnโ€™t have won .
We also needed the USA – even though they were reluctant to join the war effort because, like now, they originally thought they were not concerned by โ€œEuropeanโ€ wars and had a large school of isolationism!
India contributed a huge number of men (as did other Commonwealth countries, despite now being the largest Democracy in the world, will not condem ruzzia as the terrorist state & illegal invader & perpetrator of Genocide it has become).
Canada remains a constant bastion of the belief in Liberty, Freedom & Justice.
This is unlike their neighbours to the south who now have an Orange Clown posing as POTUS who has turned the GOP into an unthinking Cult of the Orange Clown (who has overturned the great effort the USA put into 80 years of peace with his now evident support of Moscow)
The USA was late into both WWI and II.
Today their Orange Clown does not care but will probably go down in history as the President who could have stopped WWIII but actually brought the start date forward with his lack of understanding of the lessons of history!

In August 2023, Mr De Zitter wrote the following still highly relevant piece :

Russian asset dispersion inย Kherson. Why it matters.

Russian asset dispersion in Kherson. Why it matters

When our troops liberated Kherson and advanced to the Dnipro River, the Russians dispersed and relocated their equipment, helicopters, and C2 to various bases beyond the reach of HIMARS. Why is this significant, and what can be learned from this situation?

In this instance, compiled satellite imagery reveals the establishment of a new base to the south of Henichesk. Its construction commenced around November, aligning with our troopsโ€™ liberation of Kherson and the departure of russian forces from Chaplynka.

Their decision was correct โ€” shortly after our forces secured Kherson, Chaplynka base experienced several strikes. Nevertheless, most of the equipment, the command and control center, and the helicopters had been relocated. Only minimal logistical operations were still there.

While determining the role of this new base is problematic, itโ€™s crucial to recognize that the mere existence of a weapon with an approximate 80 km reach compelled the russians to entirely reconfigure their logistical and command and control operations in the South.

While long-range munitions like ATACMS, Taurus, and Storm Shadow offer significant capabilities, their scarcity, slower production rate, and high cost necessitate the inclusion of more affordable yet equally efficient options such as long-range loitering munitions and GLSDB

Undoubtedly, in response, Russians will relocate equipment and decentralize command and logistics into smaller nodes. However, this exacerbates preexisting logistical challenges and curtails their capacity to efficiently manage substantial force concentrations.

Hence, in my perspective, it remains crucial for Ukraine to get a diverse range of long-range weaponry, all the while continuing the development and utilization of its own resources, as exemplified by the successful deployment of our drones in both russia and sea environment.

    With sufficient diverse long range weaponry, Ukraine can overcome the numerical advantage of putinaZi filth.
    But : Ukraine still must aim to double the size of its army.
    Commenting in the DT yesterday, I found that their fucking mods are now deleting comments with certain words. By a process of trial and error, I found that they no longer allow the words โ€œputlerโ€, โ€œtrumpkovโ€, โ€œorcsโ€, โ€œGabbardovaโ€ or โ€œVanZkov.โ€

  2. Maggie tried to reverse a process that began in 1945 in Britain with the election of a socialist government led by Clem Attlee, who created the enormous Ponzi known as the NHS. It was simply a vehicle for the employment of millions of socialist trade unionists and led to the massive cradle to the grave socialist welfare state that we have now.
    Had we encouraged self-reliance, we could have maintained a powerful, world class military.
    Maggie had 400,000 troops at her disposal. That was decimated by Gordon Brown and Tony Blair.

    • Unfortunately, it was not only Britain who turned itself into a country with boy scouts instead of a powerful military.

  3. The West had some great people in high places in the past. Now, in America, we have the worst possible person ever in the White House.
    America used to be great until this convicted felon was elected again.
