The city is stormed by small assault squads, which include from four to 15 fighters.
The officer of the first separate special forces brigade named after Ivan Bohun, Taras Berezovets, said that the entire elite of the Russian army, which tried to capture Bakhmut, migrated to Soledar .
“The situation is as follows: the enemy has reduced pressure on Bakhmut and from where a significant number of units of the Russian PMC Wagner, as well as Russian DShV – airborne assault troops, or as they call them Airborne Forces, were transferred. That is, the entire elite of the Russian army today migrated from Bakhmut to Soledar. And therefore, the pressure on Bakhmut has significantly decreased, on Soledar it has increased accordingly,” Berezovets said on NV radio.
According to him, the assault on Soledar has been going on for 10 days. The occupiers began assault actions on December 27.
“The enemy drew conclusions for himself after many months of unsuccessful attempts to enter the city of Bakhmut. They decided to change tactics. Firstly, instead of entering the city of Soledar, they concentrate their main efforts on its surroundings from the south and north in order to cut off the key route, which connects Soledar and Slavyansk,” said an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Berezovets noted that Soledar is being stormed by small assault detachments, which include from four to 15 fighters. Elite Wagner units are involved, as well as Russian paratroopers. They are covered by mortars of 82, 120 calibers.
