Military doctors successfully performed an operation to remove an unexploded VOG grenade from the body of a wounded soldier.

The grenade was removed in the presence of two sappers who insured the safety of medical personnel, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on Telegram.

“This is a shock. Pleasant. Not every wound in the heart is fatal,” the report said.

The Ministry of Defense added that the operation was carried out by one of the most experienced surgeons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Andrei Verba – without electrocoagulation, since the grenade could detonate at any moment.

It is noted that after the operation, the wounded soldier was sent for further rehabilitation and recovery.
