Business Ukraine magazine publisher Peter Dickinson receives Ukraine’s Order of Merit

British citizen Dickinson has been based in Ukraine since the late 1990s and has been involved in a range of English-language media projects

British journalist, editor, and commentator Peter Dickinson has been awarded Ukraine’s Presidential Order of Merit for his coverage of Ukraine. Dickinson received his award from Presidential Administration Head Andriy Yermak on 22 November in a ceremony held at the Presidential Administration in Kyiv.

Dickinson was born in England in 1976 and has been based in Ukraine for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of Liverpool in the late 1990s, he joined the British Council and was appointed Information Manager for West Ukraine.

Dickinson is editor of the Atlantic Council’s UkraineAlert Service and publisher of English-language Ukrainian journals Business Ukraine and Lviv Today. Previous roles include chief editor of the Ukraine Today and UATV television channels and chief editor of What’s On Kyiv magazine. He has featured as a correspondent for a range of international media including the UK’s Good Morning Britain and regularly provides commentary on Ukrainian affairs to the international media including Sky News, Euronews, Fox News, Bloomberg, and others. In November 2022, he was targeted with personal sanctions by the Russian Federation.

Dickinson said he was “humbled” to receive the Order of Merit. “I have been lucky to witness many of the defining moments of modern Ukrainian history as the country has emerged from the Soviet shadows and continues to defend its independence against the imperial aggression of a resurgent Russia,” he commented. “It is the honour of a lifetime to stand with Ukraine.”

  1. Thoroughly deserved to. Along with Brian Whitmore and many other journalists in the West, they are staunch supporters of Ukraine and are not afraid to speak the truth about the evil coming out of russia.

What is your opinion?
