All Ukrainian nuclear power plants regained access to the national power system after a complete blackout .

According to the statement of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Mariano Grossi, Ukraine has confirmed that the Rivne, Yuzhno-Ukrainian and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants have been reconnected to the grid and are working to generate electricity for the country’s needs.

Power supply was also restored at the Chornobyl NPP. The external connection of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP) to the power grid was restored a day after it was disconnected.

Today, Director General Grossi announced separately that the IAEA has completed a week-long mission of nuclear safety experts to Chernobyl, including the exclusion zone created around the plant after the 1986 accident. The mission will help pave the way for the modernization and improvement of the plant’s nuclear safety systems.

The IAEA announced that it will soon send such missions to the Rivne, South Ukrainian and Khmelnytsky sites at the request of Ukraine. The mission to the south of Ukraine will take place next week.
