Russia tells its troops there must be 5 million of them for victory

24 NOVEMBER 2022

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the military and political command of Russia is spreading a document called “Conclusions of the war with NATO in Ukraine” among the military. It is stated in the document that 5 million Russian troops must be deployed in order for Russia to win.

Source: Ukrinform; Oleksii Hromov, the deputy head of the Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at the briefing

Quote: “A part of this ‘masterpiece’ [‘Conclusions of the war with NATO in Ukraine’ – ed.] among other things focuses of the main problems of the Russian occupying forces such as the commanders’ inability to command troops, low level of discipline and military training, obsolescence of armament and military equipment, commanders’ inability to make decisions without obligatorily coordinating them with higher command etc. Meanwhile it is stated in every document that the Defence Forces of Ukraine have a quite high level of equipment, and commanders on all levels can make decisions in combat conditions themselves.

It is also stated in the document that there has not been such a war in the previous 80 years, and Russia needs its army to consist of nearly 5 million troops in order to win.”

Details: Hromov remarked that according to the estimates of some Russian offices, it may hint at the next mobilisation wave and implementing martial law in the country.

Responding to the question whether the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is also writing a document concerning the needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine in case the Russian Army is extended, Hromov said that this process is always ongoing.

  1. “Russia tells its troops there must be 5 million of them for victory”

Admitting this honors the fighting will, courage and prowess of Ukrainian troops and illustrates their own lack of grit, bravery and skills.
But, Russia tells its troops that 5 million of them must get killed before we give up our evil dwarf’s wet dreams, is much closer to the truth.

  2. All ideologies, races and creeds contain more than their share of bad or evil people. But never in history has an entire nation been built, maintained, sustained and nourished by toxic hatred and lust for genocide.
    It is uniquely horrible.
To quote Shaun Topham on his LinkedIn page yesterday: “We know that if Russia isn’t defeated, they will plunder Ukraine of its resources to finance its next invasion and then, emboldened, they would take the rest of Georgia, then Lithuania, Poland, Moldova etc. Each new conquest would enable them to plunder that country and use those resources to fund each subsequent conquest.”
Shaun is a a humble fellow with a lifetime of service to the RN, who then set up a training company for his family’s security.
He’s not a philosopher, historian, politician or strategist, yet he’s hit upon a profound and disturbing truth: these bastards are united, they won’t stop and they will be happy to kill more than Lenin and Stalin combined, in order to achieve their fascist imperialist objectives.
Yet those with the power to stop the nightmare are doing it at half-cock. Not only that, they are forcing Ukraine to do all the fighting alone, with one arm behind their back.
Churchill was alone for two years fighting the Molotov-Ribbentrop alliance. But he had a modern air force, a large navy and an army of three million.
Ukraine has none of those things. For God’s sake help them.

  3. Putting 5 million troops into the field is the one thing that russia could possibly point to, in strength, versus the number of troops that Ukraine has. The only other option is to try nuclear weapons, which might well cause radioactive dust to blow back into russia.

For all the continued ferocity of the Ukrainian military, this is highly augmented with the superior weapons against russia’s 1970’s or even 40’s level of weapons.

I think that a single platoon of Ukrainian fighters is perhaps the equivalent of ten times as many russians. Strength in numbers can matter little with superior tactics. I suggest that the story of Gideon in the Bible’s book of Judges, chapters 6 and 8, may be an encouraging example. In that, ultimately Gideon was left with around 300 men who would fight by his side, while his opponents in the Midianite camp numbered around 135,000. Guess who won? It’s there in the Bible. More often than not, it seems like God favors the underdog.

    • I love reading the account of Gideon. His story is found in Judges chapters 6-8.
Yes Sir Mac, Almighty God tends to favor the underdog that His power be demonstrated unto His Glory and not unto the egos of men. There is also a case where the angel of the Lord went out and smote the Assyrians, found in 2 Kings 19:35
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses.

        • They will do like in some battles of WWII; they will arm themselves with weapons from the fallen that went before them. Then, those behind them will take the weapons from those who just armed themselves after they get killed. And so on…

          • Makes me glad for those awesome Ukrainian farmers who tow away the tanks with their tractors. I know there’s a real danger for civilians to seize the weapons of the enemy, but it’s surely got to be one of the worst (or “best?”) embarrassments against russia, in all it’s history.
