After the Russian occupiers leave the right bank of the Kherson region, tens of thousands of Putin’s military may reinforce other enemy groups on the territory of Ukraine, in particular in the Donetsk direction .

And although there is no talk of a turning point in the war yet, it will probably go into a less active winter mode with proposals for negotiations until the roads again become suitable for the movement of heavy equipment, military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov said in an interview with Obozrevatel .

According to him, a new active phase of the war may begin in the spring, but only if Russia has the necessary resources.

“It cannot be said that the war is now entering a turning point. Rather, in the winter, by spring it will move into a positional phase. The Russians will try to offer some kind of negotiations, rely on certain European countries that are “tired of the war.” In addition, if the Russians withdraw their troops on a planned basis, they will not have losses, and they will receive reinforcements for their own forces. And over the winter they will be able to accumulate reserves, in particular by training mobilized ones. They will send shells and military equipment to the front. Therefore, we can expect a new aggravation in the spring. the Russian army will have losses, and they will be huge, then they will go to negotiations. But I would not say that this is a turning point,” the expert noted.

He stressed that now the Donetsk region is critically important for the Russians, first of all. Because one of the tasks of this war they are voicing access to the administrative borders of the Donetsk region.

“Therefore, most likely, they will strengthen that direction – Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky. Where the occupying army is now conducting offensive operations and where they badly need new forces and resources. That is, in any case, Zaporozhye or something else is not so interesting. Their priority is precisely the Donetsk direction,” Zhirokhov said.

Therefore, according to Zhirokhov, the Russians will now have problems with logistics

“The Crimean bridge is not functioning properly. The road that goes through Berdyansk, through Mariupol and further to Russia is in the zone of fire damage. But it is too early to talk about the start of the operation to liberate Crimea.” Zhirokhov emphasized.
