The Joe Biden administration was not surprised by the allegations of Wagner PMC handler Yevgeny Prigozhin, a notorious Russian businessman close to Vladimir Putin, about meddling in US elections.

As White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said, these comments … “did not reveal anything new or surprising to us,” Voice of America reports .

“It is a well-known fact that … organizations associated with Yevgeny Prigozhin have tried to influence elections around the world, including in the United States. The United States is working to expose and counter Russian malign influence as we discover it. “, – she said.

Jean-Pierre added that the administration is aware of the Russian Federation’s desire to “promote narratives aimed at undermining democracy and sowing … discord.

The Joe Biden administration, according to Jean-Pierre, is successfully fighting “malicious attempts by foreign adversaries to spread disinformation.”

Prigozhin announced interference in US elections

The Russian oligarch said that he  “intervened, interferes and will interfere”  in the American elections.

State Department spokesman Ned Price called it a “brazen confession” and a sign of impunity for both the oligarch himself and Russia’s top leadership.

The United States is convinced that Prigozhin  would not have said such  things without the consent of the Kremlin.

As you know, earlier Prigozhin  personally agitated “zeks”  and  recruited more than a thousand  prisoners for the war in Ukraine.
