350 orphans from Donetsk and Luhansk regions have already been illegally adopted and settled in 16 regions of Russia.

Children’s Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova adopted a boy, whom the invaders illegally took out of Mariupol.

She spoke about this at a press conference on October 26.

“I saw my son when a group of 31 children was evacuated from Mariupol,” said Lvova-Belova.

Lvova-Belova shared statistics, according to which the Russians took up to two thousand orphans from the zone of the “special military operation” in total. 

350 orphans from Donetsk and Luhansk regions have already been illegally adopted and settled in 16 regions of Russia. And more than a thousand children are awaiting illegal adoption.

The Ombudsman warned that soon information about them will be posted in the state data bank and will become available to all candidates for adoptive parents and guardians.

Deportation and illegal adoption of Ukrainian children

In recent months, Russia has deported more than 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens from the occupied Ukrainian territories.

In addition, Russian troops abduct and deport Ukrainian children, who are then given up for illegal adoption in Russia.

The procedure for such “adoption” provides for the destruction of all documents and information about the natural parents, allows the change of name.

As of October 20, the Office of the President had information on 8,709 children who, according to parents, acquaintances and relatives, were recognized as forcibly deported or displaced.
