Biden refuted the thesis of the Russians, with which Putin justified the invasion on February 24, about the alleged “threat” for the Russian Federation.
US President Joe Biden said that Russia, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, shamelessly violated the foundations of the organization’s charter.
This was discussed during Biden’s speech at the UN General Assembly.
Biden stressed that this war was “chosen by one person,” alluding to Vladimir Putin.
“A permanent member of the UN Security Council invaded its neighbor country. Russia shamelessly violated the foundations of the UN charter. Putin again threatened Europe with nuclear weapons. And now Russia is recruiting even more soldiers, Russia is trying to organize a fake referendum. And this is a direct violation of the UN charter,” he said.
Biden also refuted the thesis of the Russians, with which Putin justified the invasion on February 24, about the alleged “threat” for the Russian Federation.
“No one threatened Russia, and no one except Russia was looking for this conflict. We warned that this conflict would happen. We tried to avoid it, but he (Putin – UNIAN) himself spoke in such a way that there was no doubt. Putin said that “Ukraine was created by Russia. And, I quote, never had a real state. Dozens of schools, hospitals, cultural centers and museums were destroyed. We have seen even more terrible crimes – mass graves, bodies with signs of torture. The purpose of this war is to destroy the Ukrainian state, to destroy the rights of Ukrainians to a separate people,” the American leader said.
